Concerts & Live Performances
Because we no longer have the ability to attend concerts in-person, many musicians are posting free videos and live-streams of their performances! This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to high-level performances and repertoire. Pay attention to the things you like about these performances and see whether you can apply them to your own work!

Here's a fantastic performance of one of the band world's most famous compositions, Holst's Suite in E flat. It's a terrific example of a "digital band" formed by many of our region's music educators. Look closely to see if you can spot Mr. Brannman's daughter!

Black Violin Masterclass Series
This is an excellent resource for at-home practicing! From their website: "The Black Violin MasterClass (BVMC) Series is an outside the box, live stream interactive workshop that allows students to look at their instruments from a different perspective. Our goal is to instill confidence in young musicians so they can find their own unique voice using whatever instrument they play. BVMC is geared toward string musicians but can be a great resource for any music student searching for ways to be more creative with their respective instrument. This 60 minute live YouTube Masterclass Series hosted on Tuesdays at 2PM ET is focused on finding your sound and expressing yourself." |
