I began learning the flute at age eleven in Sequim, WA where my love for band and music was cultivated during my time in school. I attended the University of Washington, picked up the piccolo, and spent many Saturdays cheering on the Huskies where band quickly became one of my most important families. Music has given me so much through the years and I was able to give back and serve through the band service fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi. After graduating from the UW with a degree in Sociology and minors in Education and Music, I attended an AmeriCorps program where I realized that I had a passion for education and seeing equity in education throughout communities. In addition to SMP, I currently spend my time in Seattle school classrooms tutoring and mentoring middle and high school students!
