Welcome to Seattle Music Partners

We at Seattle Music Partners believe that music is a powerful tool for inspiring and empowering young people.

Because music-learning opportunities are often limited or inaccessible, SMP provides a free after-school music program for underserved elementary school students in Seattle’s Central District. We also provide a unique opportunity for skilled musicians to give back.

We recruit, train and support skilled high school, college-aged and community musicians as volunteer music tutors and mentors who lead one-on-one music lessons each week. These lessons are supplemented with a second afternoon of group instruction and ensemble work. We also provide instruments to participants and transportation where needed.

SMP is celebrating an important milestone this year—we're turning 15! We have plans for lots of fun and meaningful ways to acknowledge this accomplishment and hope you will join us at one or more of the special events we’ve got planned. Next up, our All-SMP Concert & Celebration to be held on May 27th (7:00 p.m.) at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute. Please join us!

There are many ways to learn more about SMP: read our latest newsletter, watch us on NBC, or enjoy our slideshow. For further information or to make a contribution, please contact us at info@seattlemusicpartners.org.
